The Golden Door Scholarship

Purpose of the scholarship

When an undocumented or DACA student is applying to college, they are ineligible for federal financial aid, including loans. For undocumented or DACA students from low-income families, it is impossible to pay full tuition at any public or private College.

Undocumented/DACA recipient students need to know that scholarships are available to them.

The Golden Door Scholarship provides financial assistance towards the cost of tuition at the college of the Veritas student's choice. The Scholarship aims to support Veritas Academy graduates in their pursuit of higher education.

Sponsorship Information

This is the inaugural year of the scholarship based on the current work of the founding students and we plan to make an annual scholarship.

The scholarship was founded by current Veritas High School seniors who saw a need in their school community and wanted to support some of our most vulnerable students in having an opportunity for their educational goals. With the help of Commonpoint Queens, a non-profit dedicated to sustaining and enhancing the quality of individual, family and communal life throughout Queens, we are able to raise funds and support the school community.
